The American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) has designated Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center’s Bariatric Program as a “Center of Excellence” in the United States. The Memorial Hermann program is a partnership with The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

Emily Robinson, M.D.
Associate Professor of Surgery
Dr. Robinson offers a broad array of breast evaluation, treatment, and education services, and serves women from adolescence to maturity. Her office is staffed with professionals who understand the physical and emotional issues related to breast cancer screening and treatment. They support patients beyond the clinical experience with nutritional counseling, physical therapy, physical fitness, stress management and education.

Erik B. Wilson, M.D.
Assistant Professor of Surgery
Dr. Wilson graduated from college with highest honors from Texas A&M University and completed his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at Texas A&M and a fellowship in advanced Laparoscopic surgery at the University of Texas at Houston. He is an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and the Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgeons of Texas (MIST). He is the Chief of Elective General Surgery for the UT Department of Surgery. He is also the Medical Director of Bariatric Surgery for the Memorial Hermann Hospital-TMC. He is committed to a personal approach to the surgical care of patients with an emphasis on safe surgery through very small incisions and is a leader of advanced robotic surgery.

Fellowship Program
This one year fellowship includes both clinical and research opportunities. The fellows will gain experience in all aspects of laparoscopic surgery including bariatrics, Nissen fundopliction, laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, laparoscopic colectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair and flexible endoscopy.
