o Serving as the Administrative Chief Resident during the 2010-2011 academic year.
o Duties include patient care management for surgical patients, lecture preparation and presentation, teaching medical students from Wayne State University and the American University of the Carribean, as well as conducting and presenting clinical and basic science research projects.

o Worked as the assistant director of sequencing for the Sheffield, Stone, and Hageman Laboratories.
o Carried out individual and team projects focused on finding the genes associated with glaucoma, Bardet-Biedl syndrome, familial hypomagnesemia, autism, and macular degeneration.
Editor-in-Chief (January 2001-August 2001)
o Founder and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Beneficence: The Journal for Bioethics Inquiry.
o The journal was designed as an undergraduate forum for exploration of ethical issues, with an emphasis on bioethics.
o The journal is published biannually and I served as Co-Editor-in-Chief during the publication of the first 2 volumes.
o I served as the main fund raiser for the journal, and secured a 5 year grant from the KEOH foundation to fund all publication costs.

o Oral presentation at the Michigan chapter of the American College of Surgeons, 2009 Coller Day conference, and the Detroit Surgical Association February 2009 meeting.

o Accepted for publication in the Journal of Cancer Therapy. Date of publication not yet announced.
"Resident surgical skill assessment using an operative competency model"
o Poster presentation at the 2010 Annual Southeast Surgical Conference.
o Currently revising manuscript with plans to expand the scope of the project.
"Melanoma"
o Recently completed a chapter as the primary author on the surgical management of melanoma for an upcoming textbook of surgery entitled "The Textbook of Holistic Surgery," with planned publication in 2011.
