The Faculty of the Department of Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston are committed to providing excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgical Care.

We know that a strong relationship between health care provider and patient is key to achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. And, we also know that the best way to foster that relationship is to listen to our patients.

Patient care and "customer" service are first and foremost in our efforts. We realize there are many providers of Minimally Invasive Surgery in the Houston community and our goal is to give our patients and referring physicians quality service that is second to none.

The American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS) has designated Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center’s Bariatric Program as a “Center of Excellence” in the United States. The Memorial Hermann program is a partnership with The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Surgeons Terry K. Scarborough, MD, Erik B. Wilson, MD, and Sherman Yu, MD are assistant professors of surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
