Overview
The Department of Pediatric Surgery at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston is a collaborative of surgeons and scientists from many areas of expertise supporting scientific advancement and medical innovations for the treatment of children. The Department enables discoveries from a molecular and cellular level to preclinical laboratory studies to patient-based clinical trials and research programs. We conduct and support basic science, translational and clinical research that leads to improved understanding, prevention, treatment and care of childhood injuries and diseases.
The faculty in the Department of Pediatric Surgery has been awarded over
$15 million in research funding as Principal Investigator and over $8.5 million as
Co-Investigator or Collaborator.
