Trauma Research Center
for the study of the pathogenesis of multiple-organ failure (MOF).
Fellowship Program
This two-year program is aimed at physicians (primarily surgeons) who are interested in pursuing an academic career in trauma. The participants will perform independent laboratory investigation in collaboration with scientist-mentors to enhance the basic understanding of the problem under study.
Red Duke Day
Whether you call him friend, doctor, mentor, or leader, we are all blessed by his omnipresence, omniscience, and affability. It is to this man that we dedicate this day.
Multiple-Organ Failure
Multiple organ failure (MOF) is the most common cause of ICU late death following major traumatic injury. Basic and clinical scientists will examine the validity of the hypothesis that postinjury gastrointestinal (gut) dysfunction plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of this lethal and costly entity.
